designer's statement
I personally don't feel Google really needs what you'd call a "full on" redesign. Google search works well for a reason -- it's simple and to the point.
For my entry I chose to just tweak elements here and there, while still attempting to stay true to the existing Google aesthetic. I simply tried to make some elements more prominent and usable.
(This entry has only been tested to work fully in Firefox 3.5)
