Have you always felt that you were born 10 years too late? Could you have done a better job than Larry and Sergey? Google hasn't really changed in 10 years and we want to mix things up a little....make that a lot! The WebMynd founders believe that personalized search is the the next revolution.
WebMynd helps people find their personally-relevant information wherever it is online and wherever they are. It is a browser extension that saves and indexes all the pages you visit online so that it can present back results from your history, as well as your favourite tools such as Del.icio.us, right on Google. We sometimes think of it as a DVR for the web.
WebMynd is currently indexing nearly 3M pages and handling 100K searches per day. Since becoming a Mozilla-recommended tool this is growing at an astonishing rate. We are looking for a great developer to share the challenges of building and operating such a search service on Google-scale.
You will match many of the following characteristics:
- Deep experience with Java development, tools, methodologies
- Experience developing and operating a search service
- A good degree in Computer Science
- High standard of personal ethics and a genuine concern for privacy and security
- Always wanted to found a startup or have previously founded one
- Motivated to work for founders' equity rather than a large salary
- You learn new skills fast and apply them immediately to get things done
- Solr and Lucene knowledge

- iPhone SDK knowledge and experience
